Dismissed again after the swift start. KL Rahul was fuming at himself, joyful for Chris Woakes and the England cricket team

England captain Ollie Pope did not hesitate to field first after winning the toss for the 5th match of the ongoing series, as the wicket is green and the conditions were also indicated to be favorable for bowlers, especially for pace bowlers.

The home team needed only 19 balls to draw the first blood of the match. Gus Atkinson took the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal, while the second came in the form of KL Rahul, struck by Chris Woakes. The extra bounce and the movement did not offer Rahul enough room to execute his plan. Experienced pacer Woakes targeted around the off-stump area; he forced batters to make contact with the bat.

The ball got bounced and movement

In the delivery Rahul departed; it was around that particular area that the England pacer chose to hit with a proper plan. Watching the ball on the outside of the stump, Rahul went to play a square cut. But after hitting the ground hard, the ball angled towards the batsman and left no room for the India opener to play a cut shot. Rahul's hands were locked when the red duke got an inside edge from the bat and lashed onto the stumps. KL Rahul lost his wicket.

England got both the Team India openers in a short time span. The experienced batsman went back to the pavilion after scoring only 14 off 40. The only boundary he hit was against Woakes. When England got rid of Rahul, India was 38 for 2. By lunch, the visiting team scored 72 after losing Jaiswal and Rahul.
