The third and final T20I of the IT20 Vitality Blast series between England and the West Indies will be hosted in the Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton. The series has already been decided in favor of the hosts by 2-0. England have been all over the visitors in this white-ball series. Following their successful 3-0 triumph in the ODI series, England have continued their dominant run over the tourists in the shortest format as well. Buttler (96 off 59) and Liam Dawson (4-20) were two major standout performers from the first T20I, while Luke Wood (2-25) was impressive with the ball in the second T20I. Their middle order, comprising Banton and Bethell, is firing on all cylinders, and their quick-fire cameos towards the back end proved to be a decisive factor in England's win in the second T20I. The hosts want to leave no stone unturned and will certainly look to go for the kill to make it 3-0.

The West Indies have been winless in this format since November 16, 2024. This was also the day the Men in Maroon last beat England in this format. To further compound their woes, the West Indies have lost their last five T20Is, which includes an embarrassing 3-0 whitewash against a brittle Bangladesh side at home. However, the visitors did show some fight in the second T20I. Shai Hope (49 off 38), Johnson Charles (47 off 39) set up an early foundation. Holder and Powell followed it up with blazing cameos of 34 (15) and 29 (9) respectively to take the West Indies to a commanding score of 196-6. After having done their part with the bat, the West Indian bowlers failed to execute their plans as a bowling unit and leaked runs at an alarming rate to hand England yet another impressive victory. With a game to go, the West Indies would be looking to salvage some lost pride by earning a consolation win in the final T20I.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Rose Bowl is generally on the flatter side and conducive to batting, offering minimal assistance to bowlers. The surface is ideal for stroke play, and once batters get their eye in, huge scores can be achieved. The highest T20I score ever achieved at this venue is Australia's 248-6. However, the prevailing overhead conditions can tip the scales in the favor of the bowlers somewhat. While the surface lacks significant grass cover, bowlers can find some assistance under overcast conditions or with the use of the white ball. Due to the highly favorable nature of the pitch, batting second may not be such a bad ploy.
