England =confirm Ashes 2026 dates — New venue to debut in series

The England Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that the men’s Ashes 2026 series will begin at Trent Bridge on June 18 and run through to August 02, while the women’s Ashes 2026, through the one-off Test match, will be played at Headingley from June 24.

The format will follow the successful joint-hosting of the last home Ashes in 2023, in which both series were tied. Four years ago, the men’s side shared their five-match red-ball series 2-2, while the women also divided their points series 8-8. However, on both occasions, Australia retained the trophy.

Trent Bridge, which will be hosting its first Ashes Test since 2015 when Stuart Broad picked up 8/15, will be opening the series, which will be followed by the Test matches at Lord’s, Edgbaston, the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, and Kia Oval.

The ECB has also scheduled a competitive warm-up clash through the England Lions side against Australia at Emirates Old Trafford from June 07 and 10, as CA and ECB have discussed the best preparations for the warm-up games.

The Women’s Ashes between England Women and Australia Women will begin on June 24 with the four-day Test at Leeds, which hosted a women’s Test against Australia in 2001. This will be followed by the three T20Is at Trent Bridge, Kia Oval, and Manchester. This will end with the three ODIs in Southampton, Lord’s, and Edgbaston.

England also set to host Pakistan and New Zealand in a packed home summer

The men’s international summer for England will begin with the five ODIs against Pakistan between May 15 and 26, which will see many notable players missing out due to their Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments. The BCCI stated previously that the next year’s window will be between March 14 and May 30.

As per agreements, the ECB and BCCI have decided to keep English players for their full IPL contracts. This will affect the availability of the players even during the one-off Test match with Bangladesh, which has been scheduled at Lord’s from May 28. It will be the first time they would host Bangladesh for a Test since 2010.

The men’s summer will end with the three T20Is and five ODIs against New Zealand in September after The Hundred 2027, as they start their plans for the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
