England U19 started the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 strongly with a satisfactory win in their low-scoring tournament opener against Pakistan U19.
After Pakistan U19 chose to field first, England U19 were all out for 210 runs in 46.5 overs. In reply, the latest Asia Cup U19 champions Pakistan U19 were bowled out for 173 runs in 46.3 overs, as England won by 37 runs.

Caleb Falconer scored valuable 66
England U19 were losing wickets regularly, as they were struggling at 90/4. Then, the middle-order batters Caleb Falconer and Ralphie Albert had a valuable 80-run partnership for the fifth wicket. While Ralhphie scored 25 runs, the Player of the Match Caleb scored 66 off 73 balls with three fours and two sixes. Opener Ben Dawkins was the second-highest run-scorer in that first innings by scoring 33 of 38 balls with four fours and one six.
Among Pakistan bowlers, Ahmed Hussain (3/38) got three wickets, while Abdul Subhan (2/24), Ali Raza (2/36), and Momin Qamar (2/45) picked up two wickets each.
English bowlers were in control while only Pakistan captain managed to reach 20-run mark
In reply, Pakistan U19 didn't get any better start, as their wickets were falling without any solid partnership. There was only one 30+ partnership in that unsuccessful chase, which was 48 runs from 70 balls between Farhan Yousaf and Abdul Subhan for the seventh wicket. Only the skipper Farhan Yousaf managed to reach the 20-run mark in that innings, as the right-handed batter scored 65 runs off 86 balls with three fours and four sixes.
Alex Green (2/21), James Minto (2/23), and Ralphie Albert (2/23) were the three English bowlers to pick up multiple wickets in that successful defending. Pakistan also had two late run outs in their innings.
