Exclusion of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan from BCCI Central Contracts
Indian cricket players are categorized into different grades for contracts, with notable names like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in Grade A+ and emerging talents included in fast bowling contracts recommendations.

Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan are notably absent from the latest BCCI central contracts list, unveiled on Wednesday (February 28). Meanwhile, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Mohammed Siraj have been promoted to Grade A, with Rishabh Pant placed in Grade B due to a substantial part of the season being sidelined by a road accident.
Promotions and Exclusions in BCCI Central Contracts
Axar Patel, previously in Grade A, now finds himself in Grade B. Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, and Mohammed Siraj retain their Grade A status, while Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja remain in the A+ category.
In a statement signed by Secretary Jay Shah, the BCCI clarified, “Please note that Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were not considered for the annual contracts in this round of recommendations.
