Pakistan Cricket fact check

A video, claiming to be from a Pakistan cricket team match, has been going viral on social media platforms for the past few days. In the video, we can see a Pakistani player is standing for the post-match presentation ceremony with two bottles of oil and a white goat. The video may look funny, but is it true that in Pakistan, players are awarded oil bottles and goats?

Because of artificial intelligence (AI) and multiple editing tools, nowadays, there are many videos on social media platforms which are far away from the actual facts. The video we are talking about, where a Pakistani cricketer is standing with oil bottles and a white goat, is also questionable content. Netizens are also aware of the AI content, which is often used for manipulation.

As soon as the video went viral on the social media platform 'X', a part of netizens sought help from 'Grok'. Grok is a family of generative AI chatbots and Large Language Models (LLMs) from Elon Musk's company xAI. Sometimes, net users tag Grok to verify any kind of content shared on the social media platform.

As the video has enough elements to create doubts, there are multiple net users who tagged Grok in their respective comments. The AI-driven bot verified the content and mentioned that the visuals in the content are not true; they are AI-generated.

Meanwhile, Pakistani cricketers are now making headlines for their performances in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL 2025-26). Star players from the nation, like Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi, made their BBL debut in the season. Babar, with a brilliant half-century, has already made a positive impression. Overall, so far it is a mixed performance from the Pakistani players who are now performing in the BBL for their respective teams.
