Watch: Fans got emotional as Ishan Kishan left Ahmedabad undefeated in SMAT 2025 for Super League

An emotional moment for fans as Ishan Kishan and the Jharkhand cricket team left Ahmedabad to play the next stage of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT 2025). Ishan was the skipper of his state team; under him, the team is undefeated so far in the tournament. 

Jharkhand is in Elite Group D of the tournament. After playing 7 matches, they are currently undefeated, as they have won all of the seven matches with dominance. With a net run rate of +1.976, the Jharkhand cricket team accumulated a total of 28 points and moved to the next round of the contest. Rather than relying on individual excellence, the team has gotten success so far with pure team games. 

As the leader of the team, Ishan Kishan performed promisingly with the bat as well as with the keeping gloves. The southpaw smashed an unbeaten century against Tripura and got a 93-run knock against Saurashtra. Before participating in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he played a few matches for the India-A team, where he scored a half-century.

Fans got emotional as Ishan Kishan left Ahmedabad:

For the group matches, the Jharkhand cricket team was based in Ahmedabad. They have to relocate for the next games. Fans were gathered near the team bus of the Jharkhand cricket team to say goodbye to them. An Indian cricket fan with a Team India kit was waiting for the keeper-batter. Ishan spotted the fan and walked towards him and gave him a hug. A wonderful gesture by the star cricketer. 

The Super League phase of the tournament is scheduled to start on December 12. Jharkhand will play their next match against Punjab at the D Y Patil Academy in Pune. Punjab emerged as the number one team from the Elite C group. They won 5 matches and lost 2 in their 7 games.
