'Ye team badla lene aayi hai...' - Fans react as South Africa stay unbeaten with 5 wicket win vs Zimbabwe in T20 World Cup 2026

South Africa have beaten Zimbabwe by five wickets in the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 in Delhi. It was a thrilling contest, but Dewald Brewis played a match-winning knock to help the Proteas remain unbeaten in the tournament. They are currently the strongest side in the campaign and will play against New Zealand in the semi-finals in Kolkata. 

It was a comprehensive victory for the Proteas. The toss went in Zimbabwe's favor, where they decided to bat first. They put up 154 runs in the first innings, thanks to skipper Sikandar Raza's 73 off 43 balls, including eight boundaries and four sixes. The rest of the batting line-up stumbled like a pack of cards. 

The Proteas' batters started the innings by losing early wickets. However, Brevis, Ryan Rickleton, and George Linde helped them take the game home. Brevis scored 42 runs, while Rickleton scored 31. Tristan Stubbs and Linde stayed unbeaten and won the game for the team.

Sikandar Raza's all-round performance was quite inspiring. Even though he couldn't help his team win, he did most of the job. He claimed three wickets as well in the second innings. The win for Proteas only meant that they are the strongest side in the tournament and are likely to be the finalists once again.
