India and England are facing each other in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2026. The winner of this match will play against the New Zealand national cricket team in the final. After winning the toss, England chose to bowl first. This made India bat first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
India’s innings started badly when opener Abhishek Sharma was dismissed early. His poor batting form in the tournament continued. He looked in good touch and hit a few boundaries off Will Jacks. But Sharma chased one more ball to hit a boundary and lost his wicket by hitting the ball in the air to a fielder in the deep.
India were sent to bat after England captain Harry Brook won the toss and chose to field. The pitch was good for batting, and India hoped for a fast start in the power play.
Sanju Samson started well and played some early shots. Abhishek Sharma also looked comfortable after hitting two boundaries off Will Jacks. But Sharma tried to hit another boundary and lost his wicket by finding a fielder in the deep area.
