“Flight booked for…”- Suryakumar Yadav breaks silence on Pakistan forfeiting India clash in T20 World Cup 2026
The captain of the Indian cricket team, Suryakumar Yadav, has broken silence on Pakistan side forfeiting the clash against the blue briagde during the 2026 season of the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

At the captains’ press conference two days before the start of the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka, the Indian cricket team’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, broke silence on Pakistan forfeiting the clash against the blue brigade, as the encounter is scheduled to happen on February 15 at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
Suryakumar Yadav addressed the press meet, where he reckoned that India would still fly to Colombo after completing their second group-stage fixture against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. He also confirmed that dew would not be a factor to think about for him.

“Mindset is pretty clear. We haven't said no to the game. The ICC has decided on a neutral venue. We are going to Colombo for sure. We don't know about others. We will play the match on the 7th and go to Colombo then. Every team is good here, so it's important to play good cricket. Very relieved to get back to form and score runs. We want to control the way we want to play; dew is not in our control.” Suryakumar Yadav expressed in the press conference.

Sky also looked back at the time in October last year when the blue brigade locked horns with Pakistan three times and got the chance to win. He confirmed that the defending champions would still travel to Colombo.
“Their decision is not in my control. We played them 3 times in the Asia Cup; we won and were happy. If we get the opportunity to play in Colombo, we will play them. It's not my call. If the decision is coming from the government, then I can't do anything about it. The fixtures are ready, and we will go to Colombo.” Sky noted.
“All games are important. We have to see what our strong points are; dew is not in our control. We are chasing well, and we have been batting well first. I am very relieved to be back in form. Always good to be back among the runs before a big tournament.” The former Indian captain concluded.
