India are all set to lock horns with England in the upcoming five-match Test series commencing on June 20. Two of India's big guns, namely Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, will not be a part of this tour following their Test retirement prior to the series. In their absence, the Indian side will be led by Shubman Gill, who has the experience of 32 Test matches under his belt.

India have not had a lot of success while touring that part of the world in recent times. While the India squad still has the experience of some of the senior pros like Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur, some young players have also been drafted to the squad on the back of some brilliant performances in the domestic circuit.

So what are India's chances of tasting success in this tour?

India will be up against a quality England side who have not lost a single Test at home since last year. Joe Root and Jack Crawley have been full of runs at the top order, whereas Jacob Bethell has also shown some signs of promise in the white-ball format of late. In the bowling front, off-spinner Shoaib Bashir has credible familiarity while playing against India and has picked up the most number of his Test wickets (17) against them.

Despite the impending threat which is coming their way, experts suggest that India have what it takes to come on top of England in this five-match Test series, provided they excel in all departments. In a recent interaction with RevSports, former Indian skipper and all-time legend Sourav Ganguly commented on India's chances of winning the series and dissected exactly what the team needs to do in order to secure a series win in England.

Ganguly highlighted two key factors that will play a pivotal role in helping India win the series. He wants the young Indian batting lineup to rise to the occasion and wants Bumrah to remain injury-free. While speaking of the young batting lineup, Ganguly referenced the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (2020-21) in which India triumphed despite having a relatively young batting lineup.

"Yes, sure. We just need two things, batting well and Bumrah remaining fit. We won in Australia, in Melbourne (2020-21), with a young batting line-up - So, I do not see why we cannot win".

A grueling Test cricket challenge awaits them in England. India last won a series way back in 2007, and since then, it has been sheer domination from the hosts. However, in the 2021-22 Test series, there was some light at the end of the tunnel. India experienced some fortune in their last tour, leveling the series 2-2 despite a spirited resistance from the home side.
