South African cricket legend AB de Villiers shared some heartfelt moments with the Mumbai wheelchair cricket team as a part of Project Mumbai. The former cricketer has been in Mumbai for this special project to generate more awareness and civic sense among people in Mumbai.

The legendary South Africa player visited multiple places, including the Mumbai wheelchair cricket team at Islam Gymkhana, Marine Lines, and interacted with people. Former South Africa skipper also engaged with the cricketers so much that he chose to sit in a wheelchair to play alongside them. This interaction session was full of joy, laughter, energy, and mutual respect.

Apart from spending some quality time with the wheelchair cricket team, the legendary figure went to visit a BMC municipal school in Malabar Hill and the CSSC Centre. During the visit to a municipal school, Villiers spent some time with school students and picked up a paintbrush to make the room more colorful and vibrant so that students can feel more engaged with their school and studies. This initiative was a part of Project Mumbai’s SATRANG program.

Project Mumbai's brand ambassador AB de Villiers said that Mumbai had given him a lot of love over the years, and that day, he wanted to give back not as a cricketer but as a volunteer. He added that there was something truly powerful about working with others to improve spaces for children, families, and the city.
