Apart from some glimpses of batting brilliance, they lacked consistency. So, it is expected to see multiple new faces in their squad for the IPL 2026 campaign. According to some fresh claims, Chennai Super Kings can target multiple Indian batters, including Prithvi Shaw, during the upcoming mini auction.
Shaw, who made a shift from Mumbai to Maharashtra for the Ranji Trophy 2025, displayed his attacking batting by scoring some notable runs, including a double hundred. After a long time, the top-order batter is looking focused on his game. As Shaw is looking promising, Indian cricket fans are curious to see whether any franchise will like to take a bet on him during the IPL 2026 auction. Apart from Prithvi Shaw, few other Indian cricketers are also under CSK's radar. According to reports, Akshit Raghuwanshi, Kartik Sharma, and Salman Nizar are some of the cricketers CSK could target during the auction.

CSK can try to bring in multiple Indian batters for IPL 2026 season
During the middle of the IPL 2025 campaign, when the team was struggling with their batting, they brought young Ayush Mhatre into the team, which proved effective instantly. Dewald Brevis, another young prodigy who scored some runs with aggressive intent.
Instead of signing multiple established players, now the club can focus on securing the services of multiple emerging talents like Raghuwanshi, Sharma, or Nizar. Though, about the team-building process, the final decision is yet to be made. Meanwhile, it was confirmed by the franchise that MS Dhoni is all set to feature in the upcoming IPL season as well.
