The Punjab Kings and Shashank Singh's meeting started last year during the 2024 season, from where he started by getting 354 runs in 164.65 strike rate. Recognizing his ability, the franchise decided to give him ₹5.5 crores in the IPL 2025 mega auction and made him one of the two retained players of the team.
