Gautam Gambhir denied net session with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma? Report leaks India's dressing room rumours

The environment inside the Indian dressing room, which generally remains away from the public eye, is under serious concern. The presence of the two veterans, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, has altered the ODI dynamics after their retirement from the T20I and Test formats in a gap of nearly a year. The reports have claimed there was a broken part of the dressing room.

It has been informed that the two mainstays of Indian cricket no longer have the same relationship with head coach Gautam Gambhir, and their equation has become almost icy. They are not only talking terms, and a video of Kohli checking his phone and giving Gambhir a cold shoulder post their victory in Ranchi was another confirmation of the situation.

Rohit and Kohli reportedly wanted a practice session separately, while Gambhir sent a message through the mediator to talk face-to-face. They wanted to have a net session with the coach, but that request was also being turned down ahead of the Ranchi clash.

Both players came to talk to us, and it seemed that things were not going well between the two legendary batters and the head coach. Looking at the situations, it appeared that it might just be true because Gambhir arrived alone in Ranchi on November 28 and was hardly seen with Kohli and Rohit during the practice session before the opening ODI.

Looking at the history, it won’t be good news for Gambhir. In 1997, during the Sri Lanka tour, players boycotted coach Madan Lal as the BCCI sacked him soon after. 10 years later, Greg Chappell’s fallout with the seniors saw the Australian player being omitted from the position.

In 2012, during the England tour, there were several dressing room leaks that exposed the rifts. It was later pushed to the Australia series as Duncan Fletcher, the head coach, somehow survived. Five years later, Kohli and Anil Kumble had a clash over the intimidating style, which ended in Kumble’s resignation.
