Again, an elegant century from Rinku Singh. During the Ranji Trophy 2025 round five match in Coimbatore, the Uttar Pradesh batter touched the landmark against Tamil Nadu. Rinku scored 176 off 247 in their first innings of the match.

At the SNR College Cricket Ground, Tamil Nadu went to bat first and scored 455 runs in exchange for 10 wickets. The total was massive for any chasing team. When the Uttar Pradesh batter went into the middle to overcome the hurdle, they were naturally under pressure. With one of their openers, Abhishek Goswami (79), and number 3 batter Aryan Juyal (43), they got a good start. But to stay relevant against a mammoth total, they needed something special.

Centuries from Baba Indrajith and Andre Siddarth helped Tamil Nadu to edge past the 400-run mark. On the other side, it was Rinku Singh, who showed his brilliance for the Uttar Pradesh cricket team. Singh's 176-run knock was laced with 17 boundaries and six over boundaries. Later, Shivam Mavi stepped up with a half-century to support Rinku and Uttar Pradesh.

Rinku SIngh registered a 176-run knock

Because of the hundred and fifty-plus run innings and team effort, Uttar Pradesh went past the 455-run mark and registered 460 runs in their first innings to take a lead. Singh reached the milestone in 157 deliveries, with the help of nine fours and three sixes. The ton was the left-handed batter's second century of the ongoing season following an unbeaten 165 against Odisha.

The recent form of the southpaw brings joy to the fans of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Indian cricket. Singh travelled to Australia with Team India for the T20I series but did not get any chance to showcase his batting skills. He was named in the first eleven for India vs Australia 5th T20I, but the match was abandoned due to rain.
