It was the perfect time for Hardik Pandya to show his batting power during the India vs Bangladesh Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match on September 24 at the Dubai International Stadium. When the Indian batting order was struggling against Bangladesh spinner bowlers, Hardik Pandya walked into the crease to reduce some pressure. 

The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill delivered again, but the quick dismissals of Shivam Dube, who came to bat as the number three batter, and Captain Suryakumar Yadav suddenly provided Bangladesh some momentum. From 77 runs to 114 runs, India lost their 4 wickets. Shubman Gill, Shivam Dube, Abhishek Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav were the batters who departed in this span. Pandya had to do a lot of work—he had to score runs as well as prevent the fall of wickets.

Before today's match, Pandya did not get too many opportunities to show his batting skills in this tournament. He bowled on a regular basis; his batting was rare nowadays for Team India, which made the situation more challenging for him and Team India as well. All doubts were gone when he started to score runs in a controlled manner.

Against the spinner, the right-handed batter took a giant stride out to reach the length of the ball and then swung the bat. The connection between the ball and the willow was on point; the ball, with tremendous acceleration, flew over the boundary line over the long-off region for maximum. Hardik played a crucial 38-run knock against 29 deliveries with 4 fours and one over-boundary.

Team India in the first innings registered a competitive total of 168 against 6 wickets. Abhishek Sharma was the highest run getter with a 75-run innings in his bag.
