Between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who's more technically sound? Former South Africa batter Herschelle Gibbs dragged the debate to a conclusion with proper logic. Gibbs, without any second opinion in his mind, clearly prescribed that Sharma has better technical abilities than Kohli.

A recently posted video on 'X' (formerly known as Twitter) has sparked the debate once again. In the video we can see Virat in the left frame and Sharma on the right. Both faced almost a similar delivery, but the result was different. Kohli, with his natural instinct, transferred his weight to the front foot and tried to play his trademark cover drive. The ball hit well off the deck and spinned into the batter's body to take off the bails.

On the other side, when Rohit faced almost an akin delivery, he chose to play a sweep rather than play towards the cover. This time the result was in favor of Sharma, who picked the ball with a correct stroke on a spin-friendly surface, where the ball spins more after touching the black spot of the wicket.

Gibbs pointed out the differences between Sharma and Kohli

Similar pitch, similar delivery, different result. Then how is the better batter in terms of techniques? Gibbs clearly voted for Rohit Sharma. With his years of cricket knowledge, the former opener said, "Rohit was always more technically correct than Virat, but Virat's desire to dominate, especially in the white ball format, is a major difference between the 2 batters."

Then he replied to another comment, "Have you ever seen Rohit defend balls on the 4th or 5th stump? How many times did Virat get out doing just that? Rohit is definitely technically better than Virat."
