Watch: "I had two chicks at my..." - Dwayne Bravo’s mic slip goes viral ahead of IPL 2026
Dwayne Bravo’s mic slip during a KKR press meet goes viral before IPL 2026, as he backs the team despite bowling setbacks and injuries.

Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Dwayne Bravo found himself in an awkward situation just before the 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). During a media gathering, a moment that he likely did not want to be heard was accidentally picked up by live microphones. The clip quickly spread on social media and caught a lot of attention.
Bravo was present with head coach Abhishek Nayar, assistant coach Shane Watson, and captain Ajinkya Rahane. As they were casually greeting each other, Bravo was heard saying, “When these guys called me, I had two chicks at my home.” He was speaking to Watson while gesturing toward Nayar. However, Rahane quickly alerted him that the microphones were on, and Bravo immediately reacted by saying, “Shit,” clearly embarrassed by the situation.
After this moment, everyone present became more careful. The video went viral, and many people online started reacting to his statement. While it is unclear who he was referring to, the clip alone led to strong opinions and criticism from users across social media platforms.
Bravo addresses the current team situation and IPL career highlights
Despite the viral moment, Bravo remained confident about the team’s bowling unit. He said, "Yeah, I think in any tournament with any team, once you lose some of the key bowling options, these are not things you plan for, but these are things you have to accept." He added, "The good thing about Indian cricket, especially at the moment, there's a lot of depth." Bravo also mentioned players like Umran Malik and Kartik Tyagi as exciting options and praised the spin duo, saying, "We have the best spin duo in the entire competition." He also highlighted Vaibhav Arora’s performance and said the team has enough strength to replace missing players.

Known for his death-over bowling, he had an average of 23.83 and an economy of 8.39, and he was part of three title-winning teams in 2011, 2018, and 2021.
KKR gear up for IPL 2026 season
Kolkata Knight Riders will enter IPL 2026 with a refreshed squad led by Ajinkya Rahane. In the auction, they signed Cameron Green for ₹25.20 crore and Matheesha Pathirana for ₹18.00 crore. Other new additions include Rachin Ravindra, Finn Allen, and Akash Deep, along with key retained players like Rinku Singh and Sunil Narine.
However, the team has a few early concerns. Pacer Harshit Rana has been ruled out due to injury, while Pathirana is dealing with a hamstring issue that could delay his debut. KKR will begin their campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 29, 2026, at Wankhede Stadium. After that, they will play three home matches at Eden Gardens against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants, all scheduled at 7:30 PM IST.
