Yuvraj Singh, a former India all-rounder, has declared that he is coming out of retirement and will play cricket again in February next year.
Yuvraj took to Instagram to announce that he would be returning to the game in February 2022. He wrote, “God decides your destiny !! On public demand il be back on the pitch hopefully in February ! Ain’t nothing like this feeling ! Thank you for your love and wishes mean a lot to me ! Keep supporting it’s our team and a true fan will show his or her support in tough times #jaihind,”
Yuvi’s worst setback in a career filled with ups and downs in the gentlemen’s game came when he was diagnosed with cancer, but he battled back to play for Team India again after his illness. The left-handed batsman has scored nearly 11,000 runs in 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is, with 17 centuries and 71 half-centuries. He also took 148 wickets with the ball, including two 4-wicket hauls and one 5-wicket haul.
He was named Man of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup after outstanding performances with both the bat and the ball. Yuvraj scored 362 runs at a 90.50 average while also taking 15 wickets. Yuvi’s six sixes in a row are still popular among fans. Yuvraj made his Men in Blue debut in the ICC Knockout Trophy in Nairobi in 2000, and he went on to play for the team for the next 17 years. He last appeared for India in an ODI against the West Indies on June 30, 2017.
