Zimbabwe will face Oman in Match No. 8 of Group B clash of the ICC T20I Cricket World Cup 2026 on Monday, 9th February at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. This will be the first T20I match between both teams, will aim to start with a win.

Zimbabwe have entered this tournament with mixed results in the warm-up matches. Under the captaincy of Sikandar Raza, they lost one game but came back very strongly in the second, thus giving themselves renewed confidence. Zimbabwe have experienced players in the form of Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl in the middle order. They will look to get off to a good start in the tournament.

Oman, on otherhand have enjoyed an impressive warm-up match. They won both of their warm-up matches and will take plenty of confidence into this game. Under the leadership of Jatinder Singh, Oman will look to put Zimbabwe under pressure from the start.

Zimbabwe and Oman have never face each other in T20I. This will be the first encounter in this format, so there is no head-to-head record, both teams are currently at 0-0.

The pitch at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground has generally favoured teams chasing. With the surface expected to assist spinners and the match being played in the afternoon, bowlers could play a big role. Captains may prefer to bowl first after winning the toss.
