After South Africa A sent the hosts bat first at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru, the top and middle-order Indian batters lost their wickets cheaply, as India A were struggling at 86/5 just after lunch, with the skipper Rishabh Pant being dismissed for 24 runs. The struggle continued as India A were battling at 126/7, and the tail-enders were open.
From the tough situation, Dhruv Jurel set a 79-run partnership with Kuldeep Yadav for the eighth wicket. While Dhruv dominated that partnership, Kuldeep provided strong support from the other end. After completing his 50 runs in 62 balls, Dhruv stretched his innings brilliantly to the three figures, as he completed his century in 145 balls with nine fours and two sixes.

India A scored 255 all out
Kuldeep was run out for 20 runs, while he faced 88 deliveries in the eighth wicket partnership, where he also hit one four. Later, Dhruv had a 34-run partnership with Mohammed Siraj for the ninth wicket, where Siraj scored 15 off 31 balls with three fours. Dhruv completely dominated the 16-run last-wicket partnership with Prasidh Krishna. At stumps of the opening day, India A scored 255 all out.
While Prasidh was dismissed for a duck, Dhruv was not out for 132 runs off 175 balls with 12 fours and four sixes. It was the fourth first-class century for Dhruv, who has recorded one Test century.
The left-arm pacer Tiaan van Vuuren took four wickets as he had the bowling figures of 16.1-2-52-4. Also, Tshepo Moreki (2/52) and Prenelan Subrayen (2/73) got two wickets each, while Okuhle Cele (1/57) had one wicket.
