Mitchell Starc took the wicket of Rohit Sharma. A graceful innings came to an end. Bowled by Starc, caught by Josh Hazlewood, Sharma dismissed for 73 off 97.
A statement-making innings by Rohit Sharma during the India vs Australia 2nd ODI (IND vs AUS 2nd ODI) at the Adelaide Oval. He scored only 8 in the first match of the tour, and instantly, pressure started to mount over his shoulders. Speculations were there about his future with Team India, but the former skipper showed what he still can deliver under pressure.
Just like the first ODI, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. The pace bowling attack of the home team again was on song with the new ball in hand. Captain Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli departed cheaply; Kohli is gone for another duck, with back-to-back run-less matches for the veteran.

Rohit Sharma went back with a standing ovation
When Team India was again in front of a possible batting collapse, Sharma delivered. With his vintage pull and lofted shots, the Mumbaikar displayed his class again. In the 73-run inning, he smashed seven 4s and a couple of over-boundary.
On the 3rd ball of the 30th over of the first innings, Rohit again tried to play a short pull against Mitchell Starc, but this time, the sweet connection was not there with the ball. The ball traveled towards Josh Hazlewood at deep backward square leg. Hazlewood ran in from the fence to his right and held onto a regulation catch to send Rohit back. It was the result of a brilliant move made by the Aussie captain Mitchell Marsh. He brought back Starc into the attack, and the plan quickly paid off. The crowd at the Adelaide Oval honored Sharma with a standing ovation for his splendid batting display.
