After the conclusion of Day 1 of the India vs West Indies first Test match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, the home team is leading by 286 runs. Three batters scored centuries, with India scoring 448 runs in exchange for 5 wickets only. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar will start Day 3. As of now, India is dominating the match.

The West Indies in the first innings registered only 162 runs before losing all 10 wickets. Team India, with ease, crossed the paltry total and now stands at 448 runs. On Day 3, they would like to add a few more runs to expand the lead. KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125), and Jadeja (104 not out) scored centuries. On the flat pitch, West Indian bowlers did not pose any significant threat against the hosts. Jurel's century is considered the most significant, as he hit his maiden hundred in the format. He came into the two-match Test series as the replacement for injured Rishabh Pant, and he proved his talent in both keeping and batting.

India stepped into the field only a few days after winning the Asia Cup 2025, defeating their archrival Pakistan. India is the clear favorite to win the match and the series as well, and the West Indies cricket team, in recent times, experienced some unexpected setbacks.

After the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, where India, as the touring team, drew the series 2-2, the ongoing series is a must-win for captain Shubman Gill. Gill scored a half-century on Day 2.

Key performances on Day 2:

  • Century for KL Rahul
