IND vs WI 2025: Team India's Probable Test squad for West Indies Test series revealed
India have announced the 15-member probable squad for the upcoming two-match red-ball series against West Indies has been revealed with some star players likely to get dropped by the BCCI.

Amidst the growing excitement in the Asia Cup 2025, where India have gone through an unbeaten campaign with the recent win over Pakistan in the Super 4 stage, the focus is also on the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies at home, which is likely to begin next week, under the leadership of Shubman Gill. The selection meeting will happen on September 24 in the presence of the BCCI secretary, Devajit Saikia.
It’s likely that Karun Nair, who got a sufficient chance in the away England series, didn’t get enough runs on the board. He played four players and ended up with 205 runs at an average of just over 25 with a half-century to his name in eight innings. His return to the national side after eight years hasn’t inspired the selectors much.
Devdutt Padikkal, who smashed a fine 150-run knock against Australia A last week in Lucknow, is emerging as a strong contender. Apart from that, Rishabh Pant, who won’t be part of the squad as he continues to recover from the foot injury, is expected to return for the next South Africa series.

The batting line-up, however, will be settled in the presence of KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, with the veteran allrounder, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and wrist spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, likely to return. Dhruv Jurel, who nailed a century against Australia A, will retain his place, and N Jagadeesan will be the backup wicket-keeper.
Akash Deep, the pacer who was in the UK, hasn’t recovered fully for the series, which, anyway, is going to be dominated by spin. There are chances of Nitish Kumar Reddy being back for the series, along with Dhruv Jurel taking the gloves behind the stumps.
The opening game of the series will be at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from October 2, before the action moves to the Arun Jaitley Stadium from October 10.
