[WATCH] IND-W vs SA-W, ICC Women's World Cup 2025: Kranti Gaud takes outstanding one-handed catch on own bowling

Fabulous catch by Team India pacer Kranti Gaud. It can be the best catch of the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup 2025. Today (October 9, 2025), the India Women's team faced the South Africa Women's cricket team (IND-W vs SA-W) for the 10th match of the tournament.

South Africa went to bat in the second innings to chase a competitive total and sustained the early blow. Kranti, with her individual brilliance, pulled off the stunner. South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Because of a collapse in their middle order, Team India was struggling during the mid-phase of the first innings. Richa Ghosh came at number 8 and played an outstanding 94-run innings off 77 balls with eleven boundaries and four over boundaries. Thanks to her timely counterattack, India managed to register 251 runs in 49.5 overs, which is a competitive total for a 50-over game.

Kranti Gaud takes a blinder during IND-W vs SA-W World Cup 2025 match

During the second ball of the second innings when South Africa went to chase the target, Gaud took the outstanding catch on her own bowling. Tazmin Brits, one of the openers of the South African Women's team, smashed the ball slightly to the left side of Kranti Gaud. The returning ball had good pace but couldn't beat Gaud's reflexes.

She spotted the ball and stretched her left arm and instantly grabbed the ball. Everyone in the field and the viewers were left stunned to witness the lightning-fast catch. As of now, without any doubts, it is one of the best catches of the ongoing World Cup. The South African opener had to depart with a duck. India is in the fight to claim a crucial victory.
