IND-W vs SA-W Women's World Cup 2025 Final: India vs South Africa final match highlights and key performance

The moment Indian cricket fans always dreamt about. Winning the World Cup. The India women's cricket team won the ICC Women's World Cup 2025, defeating the South Africa women's (IND-W VS SA-W)cricket team in Navi Mumbai. The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur won the final of the tournament as the deserving team. They outclassed South Africa in all departments. Before the final, in the semifinal, the Women in Blue showed the champions' mentality by chasing down the mammoth total. 

Toss and first innings of the final match:

South Africa Women won the toss and decided to bowl first. India was prepared for any situation for this particular game. The SA-W replied with a 104-run opening wicket partnership. Smriti Mandhana missed her half-century only by a few runs, but Shafali Verma was at her best; she was named best player of the final match for scoring 87 runs and capturing a couple of wickets. From the lower batting order, Deepti Sharma, with her aggressive batting, added 58 runs on the scoreboard and pushed the team's total to 298—a competitive total.

Second Innings:

The South Africa Women's team, with all of the experience in playing multiple World Cup final matches, started the run chase strongly. But the run-out of Tazmin Brits perhaps shifted the momentum of the match, and India came right back in the game. SA-W skipper remained on the track firm, scored a century, but lacked support. Without any significant partnership, South Africa gradually lost grip on the match and lost all of their wickets for only 246 runs. India successfully defended their total and won the 2025 World Cup final by 52 runs.
