India announce 15-member squad for Asia Cup 2025
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced their 15-member squad of the Asia Cup 2025.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee met on August 19 to announce the 15-member squad for the 2025 season of the Asia Cup, which will take place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the squad for their title-defense as they will also have their premier all-rounder, Hardik Pandya.
Abhishek Sharma, the number one T20I batter, is also part of the squad, having earned success at the opening position with partner, Sanju Samson. They opened for the Blue Brigade in the last 12 T20Is against England, South Africa, and Bangladesh. At Wankhede, he clubbed a fine knock of 135 runs in 54 balls against the Jos Buttler-led side.

Shubman Gill has been given the responsibility of vice-captaincy of the side, as Jasprit Bumrah returns for the event after the end of the Test series. Harshit rana has also made the squad, after he contrbuted decently during the home T20I series against England earlier this year.

Kuldeep Yadav missed the last T20I series for the national side at home against England due to finger. He returns to the squad to partner with the mystery spinner, Varun Chakravarthy, who topped the bowling chart in those five games with the help of 14 wickets at an economy rate of 7.67. He also continued the same excellent performance in UAE for the Champions Trophy 2025.
Pandya, undoubtedly, will bring balance to the eleven thanks to his incredible experience of the shortest format. In 114 T20Is, the Baroda all-rounder has smashed 1812 runs at an average of under 28 and a strike rate of 141.67 with five fifties besides recording 94 wickets at an economy rate of 8.20.
India will start their Asia Cup campaign on August 10 against United Arab Emirates in Dubai before they lock horns with Pakistan on September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The final of the event will take place in Dubai on September 28.
