India to tour Zimbabwe after IPL 2026: Dates and venues revealed

The Indian cricket team, post the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, will make a trip to Zimbabwe for three-match T20I series, having won the T20 World Cup 2026 as they play nearly 50 T20Is in 2026.

Recently, India faced Zimbabwe in a do-or-die clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai during the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side posted a massive score of 256 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs before the visitors made their way to 184/6 to win the contest by 72 runs. 

The blue brigade went on to win the final and lifted their second successive title in the format. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed their new series of three-match T20I series in Zimbabwe post the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

India to tour Zimbabwe for three T20Is post IPL 2026

Zimbabwe will host India for the three T20Is in July in Harare, as Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) announced on April 01. This will be their first trip to the country since July 2024, when they played five T20Is as the Sikandar Raza-led side will also play three ODIs in January 2027, their first visit to India since 2002.

After the end of the IPL 2026, India will play two T20Is against Ireland, followed by five T20Is against England. Post the Zimbabwe series, they will play a total of eight T20Is at home against West Indies and Sri Lanka. There are potentially 14 more T20Is, along with the Asian Games.

Zimbabwe excited to host India for 3 T20Is

The ZC managing director, Givemore Makoni, has revealed that the series against the Indian side presented a significant chance for both players and the fans in Zimbabwe.

“Matches against India always generate enormous interest, and this is a fantastic opportunity for our players to test themselves against the world champions on home soil. Following our encouraging performances at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, this series gives us a strong platform to build momentum and continue growing as a competitive force in international cricket.He said in a statement.

Zimbabwe’s tour of India after more than two decades is also the reason for the excitement and craze at Zimbabwe Cricket.

“It is a landmark moment for Zimbabwe to be touring India again for a bilateral ODI series after more than two decades. India is one of the premier destinations in world cricket, and this tour represents both an honour and a valuable opportunity for our players.Makoni expressed.

“We are looking forward to competitive and high-quality cricket, and we believe this engagement will further strengthen the relationship between the two cricketing nations while providing invaluable exposure for our team.He added.
