Delhi Capitals(DC) will play against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the fifty-eighth match of IPL 2025 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Both failed to qualify for playoffs in the IPL 2024.
When they last played these two teams, In the second match of IPL 2024, Punjab Kings won against Delhi Capitals by 4 wickets. In the first innings, Delhi scored 174 runs but couldn't finish strong in the last overs. Sam Curran played a key role for Punjab, scoring 63 runs, and Liam Livingstone also batted well and finished the game with a quick 38 runs not out in that game. Delhi’s bowlers, especially Kuldeep Yadav, tried their best to control, but Punjab chased down the target with four balls remaining.
Musheer Khan: He’s the younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan and hasn’t made his IPL debut yet. Since he plays spin well, PBKS might give him a chance at Chepauk, where the pitch helps spinners.
Vijaykumar Vyshak: The fast bowler from Karnataka has played against, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. However, his bowling show against LSG was dismal, but his bowling prowess with slower balls can be very useful in the final overs for GT.
Suryansh Shedge: The 22-year-old all-rounder has played four games but hasn’t done much so far. He hasn’t even bowled yet, which is a bit surprising since he’s known to be a bowling option too.
Harpreet Brar: It was a bit surprising that Harpreet didn’t play in the first half of the season. But now he’s back and was used as an Impact Player in the last match. His all-around abilities can help the team.
Ashutosh Sharma – He’s a young batter with a lot of talent. If Delhi loses early wickets while batting or needs to chase a big score, Ashutosh can come in as a substitute. He already proved himself by smashing 66 runs against LSG after coming in as an Impact Player.
Mohit Sharma – A very experienced fast bowler, Mohit has taken 134 wickets in the IPL. He’s a smart choice to bring in when Delhi is bowling second, especially if the pitch helps pace bowlers.
Karun Nair – A solid top-order batter who can be useful if Delhi needs extra batting. He can be sent in as a sub if early wickets fall or during a chase by replacing a bowler.
Dushmantha Chameera – The Sri Lankan fast bowler can move the ball well with the new ball. He’s a good option to bring in if the pitch helps pacers, but Delhi will have to make sure only three other overseas players are in the playing XI if they want to use him later.
