IPL 2025: Fans target Arshad Warsi after Virat Kohli's dismissal against Gujarat Titans

An outburst from cricket fans was witnessed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 when they shifted their anger towards Bollywood’s Arshad Warsi with regards to Virat Kohli’s dismissal against the Gujarat Titans. This extraordinary trend of laying claim to Warsi’s social media handle, Kohli’s shocking exit in the much-awaited game, and overs during the play on his latest Instagram account went viral quickly.

Fans Express Anger on Social Media

Even with no prior association with the field, all eyes were on Arshad Warsi, known for his work in Bollywood, when he posted something on Instagram. Warsi’s Instagram account was turned into a forum with users commenting on the baffling nature of Kohli’s wicket along the lines of: 

• “Kohli ko kaise out kiya?”
• “Kohli ka wicket kaise liya tune?” 
  
• “Kohli ko kyu out kiya?”
  

These sarcastic comments caught some traction, and fans added fuel to the fire by getting involved in trolling the actor in what appears to have become an actor-bashing spree.

Kohli's Performance in the Match

Fans were heartbroken when Robert Chatterjee, the coach of RCB, confirmed that Kohli’s predicted knock, which was supposed to turn the tables in the game and help win over the dreaded new franchise, was never on the cards and instead there was an early armed dismissal, which led the RCB fans to despair and who resorted to social media humor as a coping mechanism. While Kohli’s wicket was purely a result of cricketing strategy, fans turned to Warsi’s Instagram to vent their frustration in a lighthearted manner.
