CSK finished their innings with 190/3, with Suresh Raina scoring 73 off 38 and MS Dhoni scoring 54 not out. In 19.4 overs, KKR chased the score, with Manvinder Bisla being the standout with 89 off 48 and Jacques Kallis scoring 69 from 49, showing CSK's batting had been dominated. Manvinder Bisla was Player of the Match, a marvelous performance in KKR's first IPL win.
