Match 58 of IPL 2025 is an exciting match on the cards at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, where currently Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mustered only 10 points after 11 matches, scraping to victory against the new sensation in Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who have 16 points in 11 matches. This huge contest on May 9 , 2025, at 7:30 PM sees LSG needing to win in miraculous fashion just to keep their playoff hopes alive, while the RCB need a win from their last matches to secure a top-two finish.

RCB scored 181/5, with Virat Kohli’s 77 off 49 and Glenn Maxwell’s 28 off 19 contributing greatly to the fall of wickets. LSG managed to chase this just in time, scoring 182/6 owing to Nicholas Pooran’s 40* off 21 and Quinton de Kock’s 36 off 24. LSG’s Mayank Yadav was awarded Player of the Match for his remarkable 3/14, including apportioning the wicket of Kohli, as LSG’s win was surprising with a late-game burst.
IPL 2023, Match 15 - April 10, Bengaluru
LSG posted a tremendous score of 212/2, with KL Rahul making 96 off just 46 balls and Marcus Stoinis scoring 65 off just 30 deliveries. RCB’s reply was fighting for runs, with Faf du Plessis posting a remarkable 79 off 46 and Virat Kohli contributing 61 off 44, taking the game down to the wire. Harshel Patel hit a last-ball four to complete a fairytale, one-wicket win for his side. Faf du Plessis was the standout Player of the Match for his match-defining innings.

IPL 2022, Eliminator - May 25, Kolkata
RCB piled on the runs with 207/4, with Rajat Patidar racking up an unbeaten 112 runs off just 54 balls and Dinesh Karthik finishing on an unbeaten 37 off 23 balls. LSG lost control of the game with the run chase, managing only 193/6 despite KL Rahul scoring 79 runs off 58 balls. Excellent bowling from Josh Hazlewood with 3/43 and Wanindu Hasaranga earning 1/42 kept the LSG chase down.
