Decision Review System (DRS) controversy yet again staged during Mumbai Indians (MI) IPL 2025 match. Today (on May 6, 2025), Mumbai Indians is up against the Gujarat Titans (GT), when the DRS controversy shook the internet.
Rohit Sharma survived on two occasions in the second over of the match. On both occasions, Arshad Khan's delivery lashed into Sharma's pad. Naturally, players of the Gujarat Titans applied loudly for a possible LBW to the field umpire. But, shockingly, there was no ball tracking system available at that moment.
Like cricket fans, it was an unusual situation for the GT players as well. The third umpire declared both not out as the ball tracking system was not operational. The Indian Premier League is the biggest franchise-based cricket tournament on the planet, the tournament mostly known for its financial values and professionalism.

Unavailability of DRS in such a crucial match is unacceptable and an example of unprofessionalism according to the IPL standards. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to clarify the reason behind this fault.
Though there is no clear evidence about the controversy regarding the Decision Review System. But according to some speculations that a technical glitch temporarily delayed the use of DRS in the initial overs, players may use the system as usual in the later part of the match.
Despite being relieved from multiple LBW shouts, Rohit Sharma went back to the pavilion cheaply after being caught in the safe hand of Prasidh Krishna, bowled by Khan. Sharma scored only 7 in 8 balls.
