IPL 2025: MS Dhoni skips practice sessions – Has legendary player already played his last IPL match?

The five-time IPL-winning captain, nearing 44, is still a crowd-puller no matter in which stadium a match is scheduled for. People will gather to see a glimpse of 'Thala.' When the cricket fans of Kolkata saw the yellow clan without him, they felt disappointed. Chennai Super Kings will take on the defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Kolkata's iconic stadium on May 7.

It will be a prestigious match for both sides, as both of the teams with a glorious past are struggling throughout the ongoing IPL 2025. In a must-win situation, the absence of Dhoni sparked speculations among cricket fans. People are curious to know about his current status.

MS Dhoni to miss KKR vs CSK match? 

Ahead of the match, the CSK bowling coach clarified the situation and talked about the availability of MSD for the match against KKR. CSK's bowling coach Eric Simons has informed, "With regards to MS, he knows his situation very well; he knows where he is in terms of his preparations. He always works very hard at the beginning of a tournament and then allows himself to taper off because he gets himself in a space where he is ready. So, no issues. He will play tomorrow."

MS Dhoni, one of the most successful captains in international and franchise cricket, had to face a lot of criticism from cricket experts and netizens in recent times for his alleged slow batting and the poor form of the team. The multiple trophy-winning cricketer, at this stage, has nothing new to prove but perhaps needs to justify his legacy.
