In a nail-biting game at Eden Gardens, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by two wickets in Match 57 of IPL 2025. In pursuit of a total of 180, CSK scored 183/8 in 19.4 overs, with MS Dhoni getting the match to end on a six and a single off the last over.

KKR batted out a strong total of 179/6, due to Ajinkya Rahane's 48 from 33 balls and Andre Russell's explosive 38 off 21. CSK, in reply, saw their innings stabilized by Dewald Brevis, whose 52 came in just 25 balls, and Shivam Dube's patient 45 off 40. Losing wickets at even intervals, CSK still edged the win with one over left.

This victory is CSK's third of the season, as KKR sees their playoff ambitions suffer a significant setback with this defeat.
