In a touching tribute to India's all-time great cricketer, Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans have announced a special gesture to celebrate the Test career of Virat Kohli. With Kohli announcing retirement from Test cricket recently, fans are asking fellow supporters to turn up in white clothes to RCB's next IPL match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The campaign, which has gone viral on social media, was initiated by a tearful fan post that appealed to Bengaluru residents to spread the word and make a "white ocean" in the stands. "He made so many of us fall in love with Test cricket," the fan posted. "Although I'll never actually get to watch him play in whites in real life, I just want him to know how much he was loved in his preferred version."
The fan suggested that wearing Test whites or even plain white T-shirts could serve as a powerful visual tribute to Kohli’s immense contribution to the longest format of the game. Acknowledging Kohli’s passion and legacy, the post stated, “His legacy goes far beyond stats it lives in the hearts of fans.”

Supporters are also weighing the option of crowd-funding to share the white jerseys outside the stadium on match day so it is accessible for more people to be part of the tribute.
Kohli, who took India to historic Test wins at home and overseas, has been widely praised for restoring India's red-ball supremacy. His unexpected announcement of retirement from Test cricket earlier this week has left the fans nostalgic and emotional.
If the white-out plan materializes, it may turn out to be one of the most iconic fan tributes ever witnessed in the IPL a silent yet potent tribute to a cricketer who dominated an era.
As the wait begins, everyone will be watching Chinnaswamy Stadium to determine if this poignant farewell goes down as fans wish.
