IPL 2025 to start on March 14; Dates revealed for next three seasons

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the dates for the next three IPL editions. The 2025 season is slated to play from March 14 (Friday) to May 25 (Sunday).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the dates for the next three IPL editions. The 2025 season is slated to play from March 14 (Friday) to May 25 (Sunday).

The BCCI has also shared the schedules for the following two seasons as well:

  • 2026: March 15 (Sunday) to May 31 (Sunday)

  • 2027: March 14 (Sunday) to May 30 (Sunday)

  • However, these dates were officially communicated to the franchises on Friday morning as well. Meanwhile, with this early announcement, everyone can plan better who earlier had to wait until the last minute to release the dates as well. The reason for this change is not quite difficult to understand as the league now gets a clear window.

    BCCI confirms Jofra Archer's availability

    Meanwhile, the BCCI has confirmed the availability of star England pace bowler Jofra Archer for the upcoming season. The veteran bowler, referred to as a high-impact player in the league, will be available for the full season as well. He has made himself available for all three seasons as well. Notably, he has been positioned at the fag end of the auction register, he comes as Player No 575 and his name will come up in the accelerated process after the first 116 players have been transacted as well.

    While there is no mention of his base price, it is learnt that he has placed himself at the top INR 2 crore bracket as well. Along with Jofra Archer, Saurabh Netravalkar (USA, No 576) and Hardik Tamore (MCA, No 577) have also been added as well.

    Deepak Hooda among suspect bowlers list

    However, the BCCI has released the list of bowlers who are either banned for suspect action or can be banned too. Manish Pandey (KSCA, 157) and Shrijith Krishnan (KSCA, 281) have been banned from bowling whereas Deepak Hooda, an Indian off-spinner from Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), is on the list of suspect bowling action. Saurabh Dubey (344, VCA) and KC Cariappa (381, CAM) are also on the suspect list as well.
