Authorities arrested 13 individuals, including nine juveniles and four adults, following multiple complaints from spectators who reported losing their phones during the high-profile encounter on March 28. The police began their investigation which led to the discovery of an organized operation that spanned multiple states.
The accused allegedly brought minors from states like Jharkhand and Bihar, using trains and flights, and trained them specifically for pickpocketing during crowded events like IPL matches. The officials verified that the recovery of 75 mobile phones included 70 stolen devices and five phones which the gang used for their operational planning.

The investigators discovered that the gang had trained their underage members in various skills which included stealing techniques and escape methods and proper procedures to follow when police apprehend them. The suspects used fake or stolen match tickets to gain entry into the stadium while they attempted to conceal their identity from others.
The police arrested four adult suspects whom they identified as Shubham Kumar, Eshal Kumar, Sanjeeth Kumar and Sohan Kumar. The authorities have arrested the adults while the juveniles face detention in government observation facilities.
