IPL 2026: Are Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy playing today in KKR vs LSG clash?

Eden Gardens in Kolkata is hosting the 15th game of the IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Super Giants (KKR vs LSG). There is a big question for the home side ahead of the match, which is whether the KKR spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy are playing the match or not.  

Three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders have a poor start in the IPL 2026, as they have lost twice and one had no result in their first three matches of the season. Ajinkya Rahane-led popular franchise is still searching for its first win of the season. 

Starting the season with a six-wicket defeat against the hosts Mumbai Indians, where MI chased down the 221-run target, Kolkata Knight Riders then suffered a 65-run defeat against SunRisers Hyderabad at home. Their third match was also in Kolkata, which was against Punjab Kings, which ended in a no result after KKR were struggling at 25/2. In the KKR vs LSG match, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to field first.

Caribbean legend Sunil Narine missed the last game against Punjab Kings at home. During the toss, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane claimed that the legendary spinner was unwell. Fortunately, Narine is fit for the home match against Lucknow Super Giants.

During their second match of the season against SunRisers Hyderabad, Varun Chakaravarthy was injured in his left hand while going for a catch. He missed the third match against Punjab Kings due to the injury, and while he is still recovering from it, the Indian spinner is missing the match against LSG.
