The 23-year-old, Ashok Sharma, from Rajasthan, was picked by the Gujarat Titans for a price of INR 90 lakh during the auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026as it marked his third franchise in the competition. He was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a price of INR 55 lakh in 2022 and later was part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2025 for INR 30 lakh.

Ashok came up with full pace during the first two encounters of the event, and against the RR side at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, he breathed fire to unsettle the visitors with consistent pace of over 150 kmph deliveries.

Ashok Sharma’s jaw-dropping 150 kmph+ pace unsettles GT

Ashok Sharma came into the attack on the fifth over of the first innings. The first ball of 147.4 kmph was drilled for a boundary, while the second ball of 149 kmph was timed for a six by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The third delivery was nearly 150 kmph as the batter tapped it to the mid-off region. Not a single delivery of the over was under the 140-mark.

Ashok continued the same pace with the second ball of his second over being 145.7 kmph as Dhruv Jurel’s lofted drive through the covers gave him a boundary. The first ball of his third over was of 144.7 kmph as Jurel made room and guided it to the third man region. He finally dismissed Shimron Hetmyer for 18 runs off eight balls.

The fourth ball of the 16th over by Ashok crossed the 150 kmph mark as Donovan Ferreira jammed it back to the bowler. The last ball of the over was of 154.2 kmphs as the yorker didn’t cost any runs by Jurel. He finished his spell with 1/37 in four overs.

RR finish dominating 210/6 in first innings

The Royals posted a massive score of 210 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Their opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, drilled 55 runs in just 36 balls at a strike rate of 152.78, thanks to six boundaries and three sixes, while their number three, Jurel, cracked 75 runs in 42 balls with five fours and as many sixes.

Sooryavanshi also contributed a fine knock of 31 runs in 18 balls at a strike rate of 172.22, thanks to five boundaries and one six, while Shimron Hetmyer added 18 runs in eight balls.
