IPL 2026: Avesh Khan knocks over Rinku Singh with sharp delivery in KKR vs LSG clash

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are up against each other in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This is a crucial game for the home team as they have just one point from three games. The Ajinkya Rahane-led team have struggled a lot in this season and will look forward to finding a breakthrough today.

LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to bowl first, just like every other captain in this tournament. His decision didn't backfire as KKR lost an early wicket in the second over. However, it was Rinku Singh's wicket that caught a lot of attention in today's match.

Rinku Singh's lousy dismissal caught everyone's attention

KKR have invested a lot of money and time in Rinku Singh. However, the left-hand batter has failed to showcase his batting skills recently. In today's game, he was batting on four runs when Avesh Khan knocked him over, putting pressure on the entire batting line-up. Rinku came to bat at the No. 5 position and was expected to score runs. 

Avesh bowled a length delivery angling in, and the batter tried to play it towards the third man. However, he was well inside the crease and missed the ball. It sailed and hit the top of the stumps, dismissing the batter. 

KKR managed to score 181 runs in the first innings at the loss of four wickets. Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 45 off 33 balls, including five boundaries and three sixes, while Ajinkya Rahane scored 41 off 24 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes. It was a collective bowling effort from the LSG bowlers.
