IPL 2026, Match 3 - RR vs CSK: Toss Update and Playing XI

The Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings (RR vs CSK) match has been scheduled for the third game of the IPL 2026, which will be hosted at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Monday evening (March 30). Both teams are ready to begin their journey in the season with this fixture. 

Despite the rain threat and covered pitch, the match is set to begin on time. The toss happened at 07:05 PM local time. It is the battle between the inaugural IPL champions vs one of the most successful five-time champions. 

After winning the first edition of the IPL in 2008, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) played one more IPL Final, which was in the 2022 edition, where they finished runners-up after losing that Final against the tournament debutant Gujarat Titans. They qualified for the Playoffs in one of the last three seasons, while they finished in ninth position last season, their worst ever final standing in an IPL season. 

In the meantime, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have five IPL trophies in their cabinet, as the team is now focusing to become first to record a sixth IPL trophy victory by lifting it in the 2026 edition. The last two IPL seasons were against their culture, failing to qualify for the Playoffs. While the defending champions CSK finished fifth in the 2024 edition, they had their worst final standing by finishing in the 10th or last place last season.

In the five-minute delayed toss, the home team captain Riyan Parag won the toss and chose to field first. On the other hand, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad also clarified that he would love to bowl first.
