The Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians (DC vs MI) match is scheduled for the eighth game of the IPL 2026, to be hosted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday afternoon (April 4). It is the first afternoon fixture in the IPL 2026, while the stadium is set to host its first match of the tournament. Meanwhile, both teams are ready for their second game of the season, while both started the season with victories.

IPL 2020 runners-up Delhi Capitals won their first match of the season, as they beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets with 17 balls remaining. After the hosts LSG were sent to bat first, the hosts were first bowled out for 141 runs. Struggling at 26/4 at chase, DC finally comfortably reached the target, thanks to their record fifth-wicket partnership between Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs.

On the other hand, the joint record holder Mumbai Indians finally experienced their season opener victory, which they previously celebrated in the 2012 edition. In their IPL 2026 opener, MI hosted the three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who scored 220/4 after they were sent to bat first. In reply, MI openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton had a 148-run partnership for the first wicket, which played a massive role for them to win that fixture by six wickets with five balls remaining.
