The Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals (GT vs RR) has been scheduled for the eighth game of the IPL 2026. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to host this fixture on Saturday evening (April 4), while it is the first double-header contest this season. It is the first game in Ahmedabad in the IPL 2026, while both teams are set to play their second match of the season.

The IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans struggled in their season opener as the previous edition runners-up Punjab Kings beat them by three wickets in the thrilling fixture. In reply, PBKS had a sudden collapse from 110/2 to 118/6; however, the hosts ultimately chased down the target in 19.1 overs after losing seven wickets.

On the other hand, the inaugural IPL champions (2008) Rajasthan Royals started the IPL 2026 with a one-sided victory against the joint successful record-holder five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings. After bundling their opponents to just 127 runs, RR chased down the target in only 12.1 overs after losing only two wickets.
