The Mumbai Indians (MI) are not having a great time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as they have won just two out of seven matches. They are currently in the ninth position of the points table, which is not a good sign for the five-time champions. Hence, it will be intriguing to see how their upcoming matches will go. MI are known for making comebacks, and if they win the next seven matches, they still have a chance to qualify.

MI will play their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 29. SRH are in great form and have won four back-to-back matches, and are sitting comfortably in the third position. They are high in confidence, and MI might face the wrath of Abhishek Sharma as well.

Mumbai Indians clarify Rohit Sharma’s availability before crucial match

MI are struggling also struggling because their opener Rohit Sharma is injured and has missed the last three games, including the one against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Ahead of the SRH clash, the MI spokesperson has given a massive update on Rohit and his availability in the upcoming games in the IPL 2026.

"He continues to progress. Any call on his availability (in the game versus SRH) would be taken at the toss tomorrow," said the MI spokesperson.

MI prepare to face SRH at Wankhede Stadium

MI are preparing hard for the upcoming clash against SRH. Their opponents are having a good run and winning against them might be difficult. Under Hardik Pandya, MI are not having a great time, also because the batting line-up hasn't clicked much. Against CSK, MI had the game in their hands, but Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma's collective failure took the game away from them.

The 5-time champions will be eyeing a comeback in the tournament. Pandya's performance hasn't been great either, but at least he has picked a few wickets here and there. MI's bowling is still in good touch but the fielding and the batting is something they need to work on.
