Navdeep Saini was not part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the early stage before he impressed the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) management with some raw pace in the practice and came as the injury replacement of Harshit Rana, who is expected to be ruled out of action for the next five weeks for the injury that he picked in the T20 World Cup 2026.
Saini, who was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the past, has also featured for the Indian side in the ODI, Tests, and T20I formats under the leadership of Virat Kohli. But the last two years have been around several ups and downs for the right-arm pacer, who aims to revive his career.
Navdeep Saini’s comment goes viral on social media
Navdeep Saini, who has picked up six wickets in eight innings of the ODI format along with his four wickets in Tests, has not played for the national side since 2021. Even for his state, the Delhi side, he isn’t a regular member, and this stint of the IPL 2026 with the Knight Riders can be a new chance for the pacer.
On April 04 ahead of the Knight Riders’ third encounter against the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Saini posted a picture of himself enjoying the Karan Ahuja concert with Rinku Singh. And a fan didn’t get it right and made a vicious comment, only to get a reply from the pacer.
“On field mein khel toh nhi pa rahe ho of field mein enjoy karlo 2 month aur ghr chle jap.’ Wrote the user to whom Saini went back with, ‘to teri ky g…d me dard ho rha h.’ as the comment went viral in a few seconds around the social media platforms.
KKR continues to struggle in IPL 2026 campaign
The Ajinkya Rahane-led side is in ninth position in the points table with two successive defeats. They started the campaign with a six-wicket loss against the Mumbai Indians, where they failed to defend 221 runs, with the home side getting over the line in 19.1 overs by six wickets.

Meanwhile, their batting flopped against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at home, with them getting bundled out for 161 runs in 16 overs in a chase of 227 runs, as questions have been raised about their approach and tactics in the competition.
