IPL 2026 Ticket Fraud: DDCA Director Anand Verma Files Police Complaint
The reports have claimed that police have caught a fraud ticketing racket nearly the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

The reports, amidst the strict guidelines of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, have claimed that the police have caught a massive racket of ticketing fraud in the nearby petrol pump of the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Police raid Petrol Pump near Arun Jaitley Stadium with 20 IPL Tickets seized Body. On the afternoon of May 8, Delhi Police conducted a raid at a petrol pump adjacent to the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Approximately 20 premium match tickets were recovered. Police sources indicate that DDCA insiders are suspected of being part of the ticket-leak operation, which has allegedly been running throughout IPL 2026.

The DDCA director, Anand Verma, earlier accused the unauthorized persons of the ticket fraud during the encounter between the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals on April 04. Verma claimed that the valid ticket holders were denied entry as duplicates of the passes were used by others.
He lodged a complaint with the Central District Police and stated that he and his guests, despite holding the valid tickets for the hospitality section, were not allowed to make an entry in that fixture that the Axar Patel-led side won.

“When the Complainant and his guests arrived at the designated entry gate of the stadium, they were illegally stopped and denied entry by the security personnel manning the entry point.” Verma expressed in a report.
“Upon enquiry, the Complainant was shocked to learn that the two complimentary physical tickets in his possession had already been scanned and used for entry by some unknown and unauthorized persons.” He added.
What Happens Next? DC to host one more IPL 2026 clash
The DDCA director, after discovering the issue, contacted the Chief Financial Officer, Manan Gupta, and asked him about the fraudulent use of the tickets, bringing the matter to the attention of the board’s president, Rohan Jaitley. The BCCI will need to have a look close look into the matter.
“Mr. Manan Gupta, instead of taking immediate action, provided the complainant with the contact details of one Mr. Bhushan, who is stated to be the DDCA in-charge for handling all tickets.” He concluded.

It hasn’t been a superb campaign for the 2020 runners-up, who are struggling at the eighth position of the points table with four wins in 11 games at a net run rate of -1.154. They are almost out of the playoff race.
At home, they experienced a nightmarish time with just one win in six games and will play their last game at the venue on May 17 against the Rajasthan Royals.
