Watch: IPL 2026: Yashasvi Jaiswal brings up 23-ball fifty during RR vs MI clash
The left-handed opening batter of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Yashasvi Jaiswal, has brought up his fifty in just 23 balls during the clash against the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2026.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, missing out on being part of the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, had a point to prove and continue his dominance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Rajasthan Royals, and he decided to showcase a portion of his ability against the Indian T20I side’s franchise, the Mumbai Indians.
Jaiswal came into their third fixture after notching up a 55-run knock and an unbeaten innings of 38 runs against the Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings, respectively, as the Royals earned victory in both those fixtures.
Yashasvi Jaiswal celebrates 23-ball half-century vs MI
In a curtailed game of 11 overs per side, the onus was on the two openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, to provide the team a strong start with the bat. And Jaiswal didn’t waste a single ball. On the first ball of Deepak Chahar in the innings, he rocked back and pulled the short ball for a boundary through the mid-wicket region before putting it into the stands for a six.

Jaiswal finished the over with three boundaries in the last four balls. On the first ball of the third over against Trent Boult, Jaiswal flicked the leg-side ball and whipped it over deep backward square leg for a six before backing it up with the same result on successive balls.
With a strong boundary on the third ball of the eighth over, the Mumbai batter from the domestic cricket rocketed the cut short to the deep point boundary for another four to complete his 23-ball half-century. When Jasprit Bumrah came into the attack on the penultimate over, Jaiswal stood tall and went straight for another six.
MI struggles with poor bowling plans
When Bumrah does not find rhythm, Mumbai ends up struggling with the ball, and the same picture took place in the game at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Moreover, Hardik Pandya’s use of the bowlers didn’t go in the right direction. Allah Ghazanfar was decent with a fine figure of 2/21 in two overs.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a great knock of 39 runs in just 14 balls with the help of five sixes and one boundary at a strike rate of 278.57, while captain Riyan Parag clubbed 20 runs in 10 balls with the help of two sixes and one four.
Brief Scores (at the time of writing): RR- 150/3 (Yashasvi Jaiswal 77*, AM Ghazanfar 2/21) vs MI
