Due to erroneous social media claims regarding the possible IPL match adjustment for April 6, Kolkata Police issued an observation to clear the air. In the statement, the police have confirmed that every single decision to secure and to deploy resources is always and shall forever remain centered around the safety of citizens. They asked citizens not to disseminate or believe dubious claims.

Public Safety is the Primary Concern

Since the IPL is one of the major sporting spectacles, security of large gatherings is an equally important challenge. Kolkata Police ensure that each of these events will be conducted in a safe and hassle free event. The riot police stand prepared with appropriate action in the event of increasing tensions among the various supporters.
